Library expands offerings


The Engineering Library in the Friend Center for Engineering Education has some new resources that are intended to make life easier for faculty and students alike.

The library's new resources include new collections and new services.

New Collections

* More than 2,000 electronic books, dictionaries, and handbooks available from Book24X7, Knovel, ENGnetBASE, and ebrary.

* IEE/IEEE Electronic Library (IEL)--all IEE and IEEE journals and conferences available electronically back to 1988, and current versions of all IEEE standards.

* Additional backfiles to electronic journals.

New Services

* Loan of laptops for five hours for use within the library.

* Two library public workstations, each with scanner, CD-burner, zip drive, and software, including Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Director, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Microsoft Office.

* Electronic course reserves.

* Reserve any of the three group study rooms within the library, either in person, over the phone, or by e-mail.

* Article Express--24-to-48 hour electronic delivery of journal articles and book chapters (for faculty, visiting faculty, visiting lecturers, and postdoctoral fellows with a teaching appointment).
