Princeton’s School of Engineering hosted several hundred admitted students to Princeton’s class of 2012 on April 11 and April 18.

“It was wonderful to have students and their parents visit our campus in full force,” said Peter Bogucki, associate dean for undergraduate affairs at the School of Engineering. “We are fortunate to have such a broad and diverse pool of admitted students.”

The visiting students were among 1,976 applicants who received offers of admission to Princeton this year. For the first time, the group of admitted students planning to pursue a bachelor of science in engineering had an equal number of men and women.

During “Princeton Preview,” prospective students heard presentations from current undergraduates, met with faculty members, and toured the Engineering Quad. At an ice cream social in the atrium of the EQuad, prospective students and their parents mingled informally with current undergraduates and faculty members.

Undergraduate panelists during Princeton Preview were Nicole Clarke, Josh Herbach, Parker Seidel, Michael Wood, Jayme Ranalli, Kira Schiavello, Sharonmoyee Goswami, Jean Hsu, Chris Baldassano, Lauren Tracey and April Frieda. Members of the Tau Beta Pi Society served as tour guides.

The event was organized by Sharon Kulik and Vanessa Ross of the School of Engineering’s Office of Undergraduate Affairs.
