Sarah Morrison Barpoulis has been elected to serve on the board of directors of Reliant Energy Inc., a Houston, Texas-based provider of electricity and energy services.

Barpoulis, who studied civil and environmental engineering at Princeton before earning an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College, has extensive experience in the power industry. She founded and currently operates Interim Energy Solutions, a consulting firm providing energy management and trading consulting services to a variety of energy sector clients. Prior to founding Interim, she served as senior vice president for commercial operations at PG&E National Energy Group Inc. Barpoulis also previously served as senior vice president of PG&E Energy Trading with National Energy Group.
