Andrew Persily will serve a second term as vice president of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). In this position, Persily will continue as member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. In addition, he is the 2008 chair of the Technology Council and the Advanced Indoor Air Quality Design Guide Steering Committee.

Persily is a vice president at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Prior to holding that position, he was the leader of the Indoor Air Quality Group of NIST. Persily graduated from Princeton in 1982 with a Ph.D. in mechanical and aerospace engineering.

ASHRAE is an international professional organization founded in 1894.
