Welcome from the Dean

Graduate students at Princeton Engineering push the boundaries of their fields and go on to become leaders in industry, academia and government. The key elements that make this possible are: strong mentorship from faculty who are not only at the forefront of their fields but are dedicated to training the next generation of leaders; a close-knit, collaborative community that nimbly combines expertise across fields; and a focus on fundamental problems whose solutions will benefit humanity in ways large and small.

Graduate alumni start companies; become professors, deans, and presidents; win MacArthur “genius” grants; and receive many honors that recognize transformative impact and leadership.

With a graduate student community of more than 50% international students and a continuing dedication to inclusion and breaking down barriers, we recognize that diverse talent strengthens the work we do and the impact we have. Our low ratio of doctoral students to faculty – 4.5:1 – allows a personalized learning experience and opportunities to lead major research projects.
