The dean and vice dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science are excited to announce the school’s continued commitment to bringing distinguished engineers and scientists to our campus as visiting lecturers. With the generous support of the William Pierson Field Fund, approved visiting lecturers will enrich our academic environment by delivering lectures and participating in interactive sessions with students, closely integrated with existing engineering courses.
The fund is earmarked to defray reasonable expenses incurred for the lecturer’s transportation, accommodation, and meal expenses during their stay. Requests are limited to three visiting lecturers per course per semester, and lectures must be advertised as “William Pierson Field Lectures.”
Visitors to the University are expected to follow CDC and NJ Department of Health guidance for individuals who test positive for COVID-19 or were in close contact with someone who tested positive in the past 10 days, including isolation and mask requirements.
Departments must receive approval from the Dean’s Office prior to hosting a William Pierson Field visiting lecturer.
Applications should include:
- Name of the Visiting Lecturer
- Affiliation of the Visiting Lecturer
- Area of Expertise of the Visiting Lecturer
- Proposed Lecture Topic
- Course Number to which the Lecture is Pertinent
- Proposed Lecture Date
- Amount of Funding Requested
