The School of Engineering and Applied Science Distinguished Faculty Service Award is designed to recognize faculty members who have performed outstanding service to their department, to the School of Engineering and/or to the University. The time and effort faculty members dedicate to the operation and bettering of their institution are exceedingly important, highly appreciated, and often lacking in sufficient recognition.
This award is meant to correct this deficit by recognizing exceptional service contributions by SEAS faculty. Nomination letters should describe the exceptional contributions to the service of the nominee.
Guidelines:
• Departments Chairs in CBE, CEE, COS, ECE, MAE, and ORFE can nominate one faculty member for the Distinguished Service Award.
• Please nominate faculty members who have not been a previous recipient of these awards.
• Please keep nomination materials for all the above awards for each candidate within a two-page limit.
Nominations are due in April each year and reviewed during the Chairs-only Dean’s Executive Council Meeting. The award recipient is then recognized at the final SEAS Spring Faculty Meeting, usually held in May.
