Princeton has cultivated an entrepreneurial ecosystem, providing opportunities for members of the business community to help students learn what it takes to start their own ventures. It is also fertile ground for business owners to discover great ideas and best practices – or to scout future employees for their own startups.
A central resource for entrepreneurial activity is the Princeton Entrepreneurship Council, with most student-related activities organized by the Keller Center and the student Entrepreneurship Club. Community members and alumni serve as mentors to current students and, in the process, make connections that enrich their own experience.
Many activities revolve around the HUB. The Alumni Entrepreneurs Fund provides financial support to recent alumni startups.
Entrepreneurs seeking intellectual property to license should visit the Office of Technology Licensing.
There are a variety of events to which the community is encouraged to participate. Highlights include:
Demo Days, the culmination of Keller Center’s eLab summer accelerator program (held each year in August).
The Keller Center’s annual Innovation Forum, which features research from faculty, postdocs, and graduate students with commercial potential.
The Entrepreneurship Club’s TigerLaunch business plan competitions.
