Karen Liu is now vice president of marketing at Kaiam Corporation, makers of hybrid photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technology. In this position, she is responsible for the product roadmap and expansion of the product portfolio as the Newark, California, company grows and develops.

Prior to joining Kaiam, Liu was a principal analyst of components research at Ovum, where she focused on market analysis of new telecoms technologies. Earlier, she was employed at Tellabs and IBM. Liu received a BSE in mechanical engineering from Princeton in 1982 and a Ph.D. in applied physics from Stanford University in the field of fiber optics.
