Thomas Truskett *01 to receive the 2007 Colburn Award

Thomas Truskett will receive the 2007 Allan P. Colburn Award from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers at its annual meeting in November in Salt Lake City. Truskett is associate professor of chemical engineering and Paul D. and Betty Robertson Meek Centennial Fellow at the University of Texas-Austin. The award is given to AIChE members under the age of 36 who have exhibited excellence in research publication. Truskett is being recognized “for pioneering statistical mechanical theory and computer simulation methods for modeling the structure, kinetics, and thermodynamics of chemical and biophysical systems.”

Truskett received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Princeton in 2001. Other Princeton alumni who have received this prestigious award in recent years include Lynn Loo (2006), Costas Maranas (2002), Jackie Ying (2000), Sangtae Kim (1993) and Alice Gast (1992).
