Sonus Networks Inc announced that Beatriz Infante was appointed to its board of directors, effective January 10, 2010.

As a board member she will contribute to the Sonus Networks leadership strategies to grow the profitability and value of the company, according to the compay. Sonus Networks provides network transformation through IP communications technology. Its services enable fixed, mobile and cable operators to gain network awareness and new multi-media capabilities.

Infante also became a member of the board of directors of Skybox Security in February. Skybox specializes in security risk and compliance management by offering automated solutions to reduce exposures and address other IT concerns. Infante was recognized by both companies as a veteran in the technology field and for growing businesses internationally. She brings to these boards experience gained as a chief executive officer of both private and public companies in the communications and technology fields.

Infante recently became the chief executive officer of BusinessExcelleration LLC, a company that offers fundraising, strategic planning and buyout assistance services to start-ups and established businesses. Before joining, she served in that same capacity at VoiceObjects Inc (now Voxeo Corporation) and prior to that at Sychron Inc. and Aspect Communications.

In addition to these board appointments, Infante continues to serve on Princeton’s School of Engineering and Applied Science’s Leadership Council. Currently she also is an advisor to several early-stage technology companies. During past years she was a board member for Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network, Netli, Sychron and PlanetWeb.

After receiving a B.S.E. in electrical engineering from Princeton, Infante went on to earn an M.S. in computer science from the California Institute of Technology.
