Students create hardware, software at HackPrinceton

This past weekend featured 732 students participating in HackPrinceton, a marathon software and hardware product creation event organized by Princeton undergraduates.

This group of Princeton seniors -- Jon Zhang, Aravind Yaduvaka and Nick Jiang -- won the Audience Choice award, as well as Best Hack for Social Good. Their project was a translation app that uses subtitles.

The 36-hour challenge included guest speakers, workshops, games, food and importantly, help from accomplished mentors in the tech industry. Workshops included web design, mobile applications, cloud content management, and other topics. Students participated from schools around the world — most international students were from Canada — and prizes were awarded for a variety of categories. They included Best Design, Best First-Time Hack, and Best Hack for Social Good. Check out these photos from the weekend by Sameer Khan (Fotobuddy):
