David Myers has been appointed to serve on the Cleaner Fossil Fuels Committee of the World Energy Council, a London-based charity organization with member committees in more than 90 countries, including most of the largest energy-producing and energy-consuming countries. The council seeks to promote the supply and use of sustainable energy.

Myers, who holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, is the vice president of the Engineering and Technology Unit of RTI International, the second largest independent nonprofit research organization in the United States. He has received 15 patents during his career, as well as the R&D 100 and Environmental Responsibility awards in 1999 from R&D Magazine.
