Greg Linteris shared accounts of his space travel when an astronaut and payload specialist for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at a recent lecture sponsored by the Princeton section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Through video clips, slides, and anecdotes, Linteris conveyed his fascination with space and his belief in the importance of protecting the Earth’s environment. In 1997 Linteris spent 471 hours and traveled almost 8 million miles orbiting the Earth aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia on two Microgravity Science Laboratory Spacelab missions, focusing on materials and combustion science research. Since 1992 Linteris has been at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

Linteris earned is B.S.E degree in chemical engineering from Princeton in 1979 and returned to earn his Ph.D. in mechanical and aerospace engineering in 1990.
