Tiger Works

Tiger Works is Princeton Engineering’s community makerspace where all students, faculty, and staff are welcome to learn, get inspired, and create.

We offer technical assistance and access to fabrication equipment and resources, including 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, digital embroidery machines, a wood shop, a reservable large project work room, and smaller project storage.

1 HP bandsaw capable of cutting curves and resawing hardwoods stock under 5.75 inches

Bosch 10” Sliding Miter Saw

Crosscuts longer planks that require less precision or that are too bulky to accomplish on other tools, cuts material with a maximum width of 12 inches

Dewalt Planer

Reduces and standardizes the thickness of hardwoods, 13” max width capacity

Cuts highly intricate curves, tight corners, and detailed patterns in wood with a variety of blade options

Festool Domino

Creates mortise and tenon joints in hardwoods and plywood that ensure wood surfaces stay aligned

Handheld sander used for finishing the surface of projects made from hardwoods or plywood

Festool Tracksaw

Used to break down large sheets of plywood that would be difficult or unsafe to cut on the table saw, and establish flat edges on hardwoods

Nova Viking Drill Press

Creates repeatable holes in plywood and hardwoods that are more precise than those made with a handheld drill

Oneway 1224 Lathe

Benchtop wood lathe used for manually creating round shapes with a 12.5 inch swing over the bed and 24 inches between centers

Sawstop Professional Cabinet Saw

Capable of creating high-precision rip, bevel, and crosscuts in hardwoods and plywood.

Wen Belt and Disc Sander

Belt and disc surfaces are used to sand components down to their desired final shape after pieces are rough cut with other tools

ShopBot Desktop ATC Max

CNC router that cuts, carves, and drills plywood and hardwoods based on digital design using a variety of different bits. This tool’s cuts are guided by a toolpathing file generated using Aspire CAD/CAM software available on computers in the lab.
