Princeton University faculty members Rebecca Burdine and Elke Weber have been named 2018 fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) for their scientifically or socially distinguished work.

New fellows will be honored on February 16 during the 2019 AAAS Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., and in the AAAS News & Notes section of the November 29 issue of Science.

Rebecca Burdine, associate professor of molecular biology, is recognized for distinguished contributions to the field of developmental genetics, particularly using zebrafish to study left-right axis and pattern establishment.

Elke Weber, the Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor in Energy and the Environment and a professor of psychology and public affairs, is recognized for research on decision-making under uncertainty, advancing its applications to real-world problems (especially climate change), and for wise leadership across diverse professional societies. Weber is associate director for education at the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment, a major research and teaching center at the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
