Our commitment to diversity and inclusion
Discovery and invention are hard work, and translating that work to have a real impact is even harder.
It requires grit and perseverance and a diversity of expertise and perspective. In order for us to succeed collectively, we need everyone to thrive individually, and we work hard to make sure that this is possible, whether in the classroom, lab, or office.
I have seen in my own research the value of fresh ideas that come from working with others with a different perspective. Community is the key to bringing these new perspectives together and ensuring that collaborations can flourish. To coordinate our efforts, we have an Office of Diversity and Inclusion that is dedicated to strengthening ties in the Princeton Engineering community and ensuring that everyone can achieve their potential. We welcome your ideas and suggestions to further enhance our efforts.

Office of Diversity and Inclusion
In science and engineering, diversity of thought, background, and experience catalyzes innovation and discovery. Inclusive environments ensure that all voices are heard and all talent is recognized, while equity guarantees that opportunities and resources are accessible to all, regardless of their identity or circumstance.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion enhances the excellence of the school by recruiting talent from all backgrounds and promoting an inclusive community in which all can thrive.

Princeton University is committed to equal opportunity and non-discrimination. To maximize excellence, we seek talent from all segments of American society and the world, and we take steps to ensure everyone at Princeton can thrive while they are here. That is the sole rationale and purpose of our diversity and inclusion programs, all of which are voluntary and open to all, and which comply with federal and state non-discrimination laws. Princeton does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, ethnicity, color, national origin, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic, and Princeton does not provide special benefits or preferential treatment on the basis of a protected characteristic.
