Chevron elects Alice Gast *84 to board of directors

Alice Gast, president of Lehigh University, was elected to the Chevron Corporation’s board of directors. She will serve on the Audit Committee.
Before moving to Lehigh in 2006, Gast was at MIT, serving as vice president for research, associate provost and professor of chemical engineering. In prior years and after receiving her Ph.D. at Princeton in chemical engineering, she taught at Stanford University and worked in its Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory.
Gast is also one of three science envoys appointed by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and the U.S. Department of State. She serves on the boards of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, The New York Academy of Science, the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges and the Patriot League Council of Presidents.
