In March Bob Klein was inducted into the Long Island Technology Hall of Fame at its annual event that recognizes the accomplishments of past and current leaders in science or technology who have impacted Long Island. Klein is the vice president of engineering and global product development for Northrop Grumman Corporation’s military aircraft systems division and has made outstanding contributions to the field of aerospace engineering and STEM education efforts.

Northrop Grumman is a global security company providing unmanned systems, cybersecurity, C4ISR and logistics to governments and commercial industry worldwide. Klein is currently leading technologists and engineers working on projects such as the B-2 Spirit, E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, and E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System. He has led many other advanced technology programs since joining the company in 1974 under a Grumman scholarship. Over the course of his career, Klein has been recognized by the federal government with the Hammer Award, the Program Management Award and the Top Integrated Product Team Award. He has a BSE in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton, Class of 1978, and earned his M.S. in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT in 1980.
