It was announced that Hafize Gaye Erkan has joined First Republic Bank as senior vice president, chief investment officer, and co-chief risk officer. Based in New York, Erkan will oversee the bank’s investment portfolio and direct the enterprise risk management function.

Prior to this position, Erkan was at Goldman Sachs. She started there in 2005 and was the managing director and head of financial institutions group strats in the investment banking division. Erkan received her Ph.D. in operations research and financial engineering from Princeton in 2006. Her B.S. is from Bogazici University in Turkey.
