David Treadwell has joined Amazon after spending almost three decades at Microsoft. The impetus was the challenge and opportunity to grow in a different tech problem space.

Treadwell joined Microsoft in 1989, the year he graduated from Princeton with a BSE in electrical engineering. He worked on Windows, Xbox and other key company products and continued to move to higher managerial and leadership levels. Most recently he was corporate vice president of identity in the company’s cloud and enterprise team, having moved from the position of corporate vice president in charge of Windows engineering program management.
