Prospective Graduate Students

Welcome from the Dean

Graduate students are the engine that propel our research mission.

At Princeton, you will engage in discovery and invention at the cutting edge, actually expanding the confines of human knowledge.  At some point in your time here, you will do or know something that no other person in history has ever known or done.  And in engineering, we use that knowledge in the service of humanity, translating our work to reshape technology and to make the world a better place.

How does this happen?  You will work closely with your faculty advisor, and with mentors and collaborators across campus and around the world.  You will learn from your fellow students, including how to build teams that can accomplish work that no one could do alone.  Our cross-departmental institutes and centers create unexpected connections, pushing your work and your own intellectual growth in entirely new directions. After Princeton, our graduate students continue to do amazing things as leaders in industry, academia and government, using both the technical knowledge and the deeper skills developed over your time with us.  Please explore the resources here at Princeton, including the ever-growing list of research highlighted by our departments, as well as our new Pathway to Graduate School program for rising college seniors.
