Peet’s Coffee & Tea, a California-based specialty tea and coffee retailer, announced in October that Ted Hall has joined its board of directors.

In a press release, the company said Hall’s entrepreneurial and executive-level management experience will be an asset to the company and will help them to maintain the company’s vision “to be the gold standard specialty coffee and tea brand.”

The company, which was founded in 1966 in Berkeley, sells its products online and in stores, which are primarily located in California.

Over the course of 27 years, Hall was associated with McKinsey & Company, a world leader in the senior management consulting field. He served as managing partner of the San Francisco office and then as member of the shareholders committee, which is the company’s board of directors.

Currently, Hall is the president of Long Meadow Winery and a general partner of Long Meadow Ranch, a 650-acre historic ranch north of Napa Valley that produces extra virgin olive oil, grass-fed beef, heirloom fruits and vegetables, and eggs.

In addition, Hall is the managing director of Mayacamas Associates, a consulting firm, and on the board of directors for Dolby Laboratories, Inc. and Williams-Sonoma, Inc.

Hall received an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Princeton in 1970 and an M.B.A. from Stanford in 1973.
