Gasco Energy has announced that W. King Grant has been named chief executive officer and director, effective January 1, 2011.

Grant has been with Gasco in various positions since 2001 and was previously the company’s president and chief financial officer.

Prior to joining Gasco, Grant served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for KEH.com, an online retailer of new and used camera equipment.

From 1997 to 1999, Grant was senior vice president in the natural resources group of ING Baring, where he was responsible for providing financing and advisory services to mid-cap and smaller energy companies. During the previous eleven years, Mr. Grant had held several positions at Chase Manhattan Bank and its affiliates, including vice president in the oil and gas group.

Gasco is a natural gas and petroleum exploitation, development and production company engaged in locating and developing hydrocarbon resources, primarily in the Rocky Mountain region.

Grant received a B.S.E. in chemical engineering from Princeton, followed by an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennyslvania in 1992.
