Carl Sparks, president and CEO of Travelocity Global, an online provider of travel services, was elected to the board of directors of Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc., the parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins

Dunkin’ Brands will look to Sparks and his online and digital experience for guidance as the company enters a new phase of growth. In addition to his heading Travelocity, that experience includes Sparks’s role as president of Gilt Groupe, an online fashion and travel retailer in the U.S. He also implemented new and innovative marketing programs while at Expedia Inc. as general manager for Hotels.com North America and chief marketing officer for Expedia.com. Before that, he held senior management positions at Capital One, Guinness, PepsiCo and Boston Consulting Group.

After receiving a BSE in mechanical and aerospace engineering in 1989 from Princeton, Sparks went on to earn an MBA in 1993 from Harvard University.
