The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation elected Macauley Whiting president of its board of trustees. Whiting served on the board in other trustee capacities prior to this appointment.

A graduate from Princeton’s Department of Chemical Engineering in 1978, Whiting went on to work at the Dow Chemical Company. In 1982, he co-founded Decker Energy International, a renewable energy company, which he sold in 2012. He presently is a trustee emeritus of Northwood University, president of the Macauley and Helen Dow Whiting Foundation, and board member for Michigan Baseball Operations,

The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation is based in Midland, Michigan and serves the inhabitants of both the city and state. It was established in memory of Herbert H. Dow, founder of Dow Chemical, by his widow in 1936.
