It was announced by the law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld that Pratik Shah is joining their Supreme Court practice.

Shah moves from the Department of Justice, where he was assistant to the solicitor general since 2008. In that role, he argued 13 cases before the Supreme Court on a range of issues. Prior years were spent at WilmerHale in the Supreme Court and appellate practice. Earlier in his law career, Shah clerked for Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and Judge William A. Fletcher on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Shah earned his J.D. at the University of California- Berkeley in 2001 and graduated with highest honors in chemical engineering from Princeton in 1998.
