It was announced that John Drzik is president of global risk and specialties at Marsh, Inc., effective January 1. In his new role, Drzik will oversee a number of Marsh & McLennan Companies. He also was named chair of the newly formed Marsh and McLennan Companies Global Risk Center.

Prior to the move to Marsh, Drzik was chairman and CEO of Oliver Wyman Group. Both businesses are Marsh and McLennan Companies. Marsh provides insurance broking and risk management, and Oliver Wyman provides management consulting.

Drzik, who graduated from Princeton with a BSE in civil engineering in 1983, has authored numerous articles on strategy, risk management and financial services. He is the founder of the Oliver Wyman Institute, a cooperative academic forum designed to accelerate knowledge of transfer between the academic community and the financial services industry. Currently, Drzik serves on the boards of directors of Betaworks and the International Risk Governance Council, and on the industry advisory board of the Wharton Financial Institutions Center.
