Vocaturo and Weiss awarded President’s Achievement Award

Joseph Voacturo, a senior technical support staff member in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Patricia Weiss, finance manager in the Department of Chemical Engineering, were honored as recipients of the President’s Achievement Award on March 26.

The President’s Achievement Award, established in 1997, recognizes members of the support and administrative staffs who have five or more years of service and whose dedication has contributed to the success of their departments and the University. Winners receive a $2,000 award, along with a certificate of achievement. Candidates are nominated and the recipients are decided on by a selection committee. There are five recipients each year.

Vocaturo’s award citation remarked on his creativity and innovation, particularly in his contribution to two major exhibitions at the University Art Museum. Weiss’ citation recognized her flexibility and management in a variety of administrative roles.
