RichRelevance named Carl Theobald ’92 president and CEO

Carl Theobald was appointed president and chief executive officer of RichRelevance. He will be responsible for the company’s global operations and expansion into new areas.

Through the use of advanced A.I. and big data, RichRelevance provides the means for over 200 brands, such as Burberry, Office Depot, Barneys NY, and Williams Sonoma, to offer a personalized shopping experience to their customers across mobile, web, email, in-store, and other channels. Headquartered in San Francisco, the company serves clients in 42 countries from nine offices located around the world.

Theobald brings to his new position years of experience as a technology executive. He has served as CEO of FollowAnalytics, a mobile marketing platform serving diverse brands, and earlier was CEO at Avangate, a global ecommerce and subscription billing platform. His career began at Oracle, after receiving a master’s degree in engineering from Stanford University and a BSE in electrical engineering from Princeton in 1992.
